2005-2006 YEAR-END LUNCHEON
And AWARDS PRESENTATION
On May 12, 2006, we had our Annual Year-End Luncheon and
Awards Presentation at Traditions Restaurant in Tyler, Texas.
Vice-President Stephanie Johnson introduced Natalie Beams,
who earned the Sarah Kerr Theory Award this year.
Natalie, a student of Donna Calaway, was honored to have the award
presented by Sarah Kerr herself.

Natalie and Donna performed a duet for flute and piano.

Membership Chairman Helen Elbert was nominated for
2005-2006 Texas Music Teachers Association Teacher of the Year award.
President Glenda Moore read the nomination statement
recognizing Helen and her achievements.

Professional Artist James Wilkins was recognized for his contributions to
ETMTA's Advertising Committee, and was presented with a gift certificate
by Treasurer Sonia Carpenter.

Service Committee Members Shelly Davis and Clarrissa Ewen
presented a check in the amount of $2,781.50 to
Treasurer Sonia Carpenter for money raised by
ETMTA teachers and their students in the Practice-A-Thon.
This money has been forwarded to Music Teachers National Association
to provide aid for music teachers and students affected
by the 2005 gulf coast hurricane disasters.
