The 2007
Texas Music Teachers Association
Convention
was held June 9-12 in Grapevine, Texas.

ENSEMBLES!

Thirty-four area piano students represented ETMTA at the TMTA Convention
at the Dallas-Fort Worth Airport Hyatt Regency Hotel on June 9 and 10.
The students played simultaneously on 15 grand pianos in
the Enterprise Ballroom of the hotel before an audience of approximately 2000.

Seven students in grades 8 through 12 played Schubert's "Military March in D".
Twenty-seven students in grades 1 through 7 performed "Wild Horse Round-up"
by Dennis Alexander.  Gail Hill directed the ensembles.

The students are student affiliate members of TMTA and represent the studios of
ETMTA piano teachers Donna Calaway, Alice Hampton, Gail Hill, Alison Isbell,
Stephanie Johnson, Glenda Moore, and Judy Wilkins.

The student ensembles were two of 104 performing groups from
various cities across the state of Texas.  Every student who played
must have qualified to participate by passing a written music theory exam
administered biannually by the Texas Music Teachers Association.
