My educational background and my on-going piano studies give me the expertise to tailor lessons
to individual learning styles and goals. Sonata Studio gives me the opportunity to do what I love
best: teach others to play the piano. I believe that making music enriches the lives of both the
musician and the listener.
My teaching philosophy is that playing any instrument should be an enjoyable experience. It is an
endeavor that requires commitment, discipline, and practice, but NEVER drudgery. I try to work
with my students to accommodate their interests, while setting obtainable, age-appropriate goals in
theory, music history, and performance. I use a variety of materials, and welcome new ideas and
strategies.
