| The second Sarah Kerr Award was presented to Russell McCook at the ETMTA Annual Year-End Luncheon and Awards Presentation in the Piano Room at Traditions Restaurant in Tyler, Texas. Russell McCook was presented the award by Theory Committee Chair Katy Edwards. Russell was a student of Sarah Kerr as a beginner. He has also studied with Stephanie Johnson, and has continued his piano and theory studies through the present time with Judy Wilkins. Russell will be presenting his Senior Recital at Braithwaite Recital Hall on May 31, 2011, and plans to study Musical Theater at Oklahoma City University. |
| The first Sarah Kerr Theory Award was presented on May 12, 2006 to Natalie Beams at the ETMTA Annual Year-End Luncheon and Awards Presentation in the Piano Room at Traditions Restaurant in Tyler, Texas. Natalie, a student of Donna Calaway, was honored to have the award presented by Sarah Kerr herself. |

In 2006 ETMTA established the Sarah Kerr Theory award. This award is given to graduating seniors who have taken the Whitlock Theory Tests in grades 4 through 12, and earned a medal for each test by receiving the required 90-point minimum. |
