Mission for the ETMTA Practice-A-Thon:
Throughout the week of March 25 - 31, 2007,
ETMTA students will commit to daily practice.
Our mission is to strengthen student's practice habits
while supporting the Choir School of East Texas.
The Choir School of East Texas' mission is
"to use music as a positive intervention
in the lives of youth through out-of-school arts learning,
including vocal training, private piano lessons, and
leadership development in children and youth grades 3 through 7".

What do you need to do?
STEP 1: Find sponsors (mom, dad, family, friends, neighbors, teachers)
starting March 5th, who will pledge a certain amount for each minute of practice.
Suggested amounts - pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters.
Even one penny a day can make a difference!!
STEP 2: Practice daily (minimum 15 minutes) during the week of February 19-25.
Keep track of your practice minutes on the Daily Practice Log.
The more you practice the more you are helping others and improving your
playing! Make sure your parent signs the “official parent signature”
to verify the time practiced.
STEP 3: Collect pledges the week of April 1 through 5
and turn in your pledge money and Daily Practice Log
to your teacher by April 6, 2007
or to the “Play Day” on Saturday, April 7, 2007
at Tyler Piano & Organ Co.
STEP 4: All participating “Practice-A-Thon” students are invited to come to the
“Play Day” at Tyler Piano & Organ Co.
from 9:00 AM to Noon
on Saturday, April 7.
ETMTA teachers must turn in their studio's Daily Practice Logs and pledge money
no later than 12:00 PM on Saturday, April 7
for their students to be eligible for prizes.
(Pledge money will still be accepted after that date.)
PRIZES!!
Every student who practices 150 minutes or more will be eligible for
1 of 3 grand prizes!!
The drawing for the Grand Prizes will take place at
the “Play Day”
at Tyler Piano & Organ Co.
at 12:00 PM, April 7, 2007.
