| ORIGINAL COMPOSITION COMPETITION 2009-2010 Winners from ETMTA: ANDREW ROBBINS, College, Piano Solo and 1st Place TMTA College Solo Division HANNAH ROOT, Grade 9, Piano Solo JOHN DAVID SHORT, Grade 8, Piano Solo & Violin-Piano Duet See your ETMTA teacher for entry deadlines. See your ETMTA teacher for entry requirements. MTNA/TMTA Composition Competition awards encourage creativity and self-expression in student musicians through the art of composing and to recognize their achievements, as well as the significant work of their teachers. Winning compositions on the local level are performed by the student-composers at the ETMTA Year-End Luncheon & Awards Presentation. Winners in the state competition perform at the next TMTA State Convention. Winners in the national competition perform at the next MTNA National Convention. Participating students must be Student Affiliates and pass the TMTA Theory Examination. |
