       Dr. Cheryl Rogers, is currently the director of
Institutional Effectiveness, Planning, and Research
for Tyler Junior College.  Prior to this she was
Instructor/Managing Director of Fine and
Performing Arts for 31 years.  
      She is past president of the Texas Association
of Music Schools and of Young Audiences of
Northeast Texas, and received a two year
appointment to the Texas Commision on the Arts
Performing Arts Advisory panel, serving as chair in
the second year.
      She is active in the East Texas and Tyler
communities through her affiliations with Arts East
Texas (Regional Arts Consortium), Tyler Museum of
Art, Partner in Arts, and Women's Symphony
League.  She is a member of Marvin United
Methodist Church where she sings in the choir and
is soprano soloist for many events.
THE 2012 JUDGES
       Michelle Brians, in her ninth year with the
Denton ISD String faculty, serves as Director of
Orchestras at John Guyer High School as well as
teaching beginning string classes at McNair and
Stephens Elementary Schools.  
      She is also serving her sixth year as the
Orchestra Division Chair for TMEA Region 2.  She
was selected in 2007 and 2011 by a Denton ISD
Top 30 Graduate as an “Educator of Influence”.  
Ms. Brians is also active as sectional coach and
clinician.  
      Ms. Brians is originally from Tyler, Texas, where
she graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and
studied violin with Ruth Morrow, Jamie Reason, and
Jan Sloman. Ms. Brians graduated Summa cum
Laude from the University of North Texas in May of
2003, where she studied violin with Igor Borodin
and Julia Bushkova.
