participated in the
Practice-A-Thon and Play-A-Thon.
The final tally as of April 6, 2006:
a total of 8,798 minutes were practiced
and a total of $2,781.60 was raised!

Mission for the ETMTA Practice-A-Thon:
Throughout the week of February 19-25,
ETMTA students will commit to daily practice.
Our mission is to strengthen student's practice habits
while supporting MTNA in its effort to raise funds for teachers
affected by the Hurricane Katrina Disaster.
Many teachers lost their entire studio when the hurricane hit.
Lots of students lost their music and instruments and have missed many lessons.
What do you need to do?
STEP 1: Find sponsors (mom, dad, family, friends, neighbors, teachers)
starting February 4th, who will pledge a certain amount for each minute of practice.
Suggested amounts - pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters.
Even one penny a day can make a difference!!
STEP 2: Practice daily (minimum 15 minutes) during the week of February 19-25.
Keep track of your practice minutes on the Daily Practice Log.
The more you practice the more you are helping others and improving your
playing! Make sure your parent signs the “official parent signature”
to verify the time practiced.
STEP 3: Collect pledges the week of February 26-March 3
and turn in your pledge money and Daily Practice Log
to your teacher by March 3, 2006
or to the “Play-A-Thon” on Sat., March 4, 2006
at Tyler Piano & Organ Co.
STEP 4: ETMTA teachers must turn in their studio's Daily Practice Logs and
pledge money no later than March 4, 2006 by 3:00
for their students to be eligible for prizes.
Pledge money will be turned in at the “Play-A-Thon”
at Tyler Piano & Organ Company
on March 4, 2006.
STEP 5: All participating “Practice-A-Thon” students are invited to come to the
“Play-A-Thon” at Tyler Piano & Organ Co.
on Saturday, March 4.
ETMTA teachers will be given a designated time slot (from 9:00 to 5:00)
to avoid store congestion.
(Pledge money will still be accepted after that date.)
Prizes?
Every student who practices 150 minutes or more will be eligible for
1 of 3 grand prizes!!
The drawing for the Grand Prizes will take place at
the “Play-A-Thon”
at Tyler Piano & Organ Co.
at 4:00 pm, March 4, 2006.
